Building work is well underway at the site, with the ride expected to be complete and open to the public in Spring this year. Fully powered by the Park’s 150kW Photovoltaic Array, thrill seekers will climb a 12 metre high tower before hopping into inflatable boats and hurtling down a choice of hump back chutes or a spiralling tube, flowing with water.
‘SolarSplash’ was one of the first suggestions received from Phil Williams, a member of GreenWood’s on-site maintenance team. He said: “The thinking behind my idea was pretty straight forward using the two most striking features of the ride. It really will deliver what the name says – a massive splash powered completely using solar energy!”
SolarSplash is due to open in spring 2016.
